Part 107 Prep collects no data.

This policy covers the Part 107 Prep mobile app for iOS and Android and the Part 107 Prep website. Both are free study tools. Neither has an account system, analytics, advertising, or a server that stores anything about you.

The app

What the app stores, and where

When you use the app you may enter a name or nickname, an optional test date, and a daily goal. As you study, the app records which certification steps and study modules you have marked complete, your flashcard and review schedule, your streak, your settings, and the results of the practice exams you take. All of this is kept in the app's private storage on your own device. It is used only to show you your own progress.

Nothing is transmitted to the developer or to any third party. The app has no login, no cloud sync, no crash reporting, no analytics, and no advertising. The developer has no way to see your name, your scores, or anything else you enter.

Your device's own backup

If you use your phone's own backup service (for example iCloud Backup on iOS or Google's Android backup), the app's storage may be included in that backup under your own account, subject to that platform's terms. That backup belongs to you; the developer cannot access it.

Study reminders

If you turn on a daily reminder, the notification is scheduled by your phone's own notification system at the time you choose. No reminder is sent from a server, and turning it off in the app's settings cancels it.

Backup codes

The app's Backup and restore screen can generate a code that contains your progress so you can move it to a new phone. The app displays the code to you and, if you choose, passes it to your device's share sheet. Where you save or send it is your choice.

External links

The app links to FAA websites and other third-party sites. They open in your device's browser and are governed by their own privacy policies.

Deleting your data

Open Settings in the app and choose Erase all progress, or delete the app. Either removes everything the app stored.

Children

The app is intended for people preparing for the FAA remote pilot certificate, which requires applicants to be at least 16. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it collects no information at all.

The website

The website is a static site hosted on GitHub Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising. Practice exam scores on the website are kept in your browser's local storage on your own computer and are never sent anywhere. GitHub, as the hosting provider, may log standard web server information such as IP addresses under GitHub's privacy statement.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Because the app and site collect nothing, any change would be to make this page clearer, not to begin collecting data.
